The Beginning

Hi, I’m Lily and over the past few months, I’ve been building something that once felt way bigger than me: my own at-home pottery business. After graduating in April 2025 with a degree in studio art, specializing in ceramics, I found myself asking the same question so many creatives do: “Now what?”

I knew I didn’t want to let my skills sit on a shelf. I didn’t want ceramics to just be something I studied, I wanted it to be something I lived. Something I could grow into a career, a creative outlet, and hopefully, a source of income. So I started figuring it out. Slowly, piece by piece.

Over the past few months, I’ve invested in my own kiln, stocked up on clay, spent hours creating and refining pieces, photographing my work, collaborating with other small businesses through co-ops, and building the foundation of my online shop. What started as an idea has slowly turned into something real, something I can see, hold, and share.

I won’t lie, starting a ceramic business from home felt intimidating at first. There’s a lot of uncertainty, a lot of trial and error, and a lot of moments where you question if you’re doing it “right.” But with every piece I make and every step forward, I’ve become more confident in what I’m building.

And honestly? I’m just getting started.

This journey has already taught me so much about patience, creativity, and trusting the process—and I’m so excited to see where it leads. So whether you’re here because you love handmade ceramics, want to support small businesses, or you’re just curious about the process behind it all, welcome. I’m really glad you’re here.

Stay tuned… this is only the beginning. 🍶✨
